Apart from a decent suit and good manners, it is also the fragrance which makes a man a real gentleman. And this is said by none other than fashion designer Tom Ford. Stroll across the Marienplatz, let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere, gather impressions, observe the lively hustle and bustle. That’s what we suggest you do next. Speaking of which, Marienplatz is also often referred to as the heart of Ravensburg, because it is the starting point for many great activities in all directions.

Indeed, there are many possibilities, paths and means here. For the perfect day, however, there is only one plan. This one leads you instantly to Marktstraße. The name says it all: every Saturday morning, a large weekly market takes place here from 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.. On all other days of the week, the farmer’s market offers fresh products from the region: Fruit, cakes, juices, vegetables – perfect for a little snack in between!

Once you arrive in the museum district, you will be faced with the choice of a visit to one of the following four museums: the Humpis-Quartier Museum, the Art Museum, the Ravensburger Museum and the Business Museum. History buffs opt for the Humpis-Quartier, while art lovers opt for the current vernissage at the Kunstmuseum. Families go to the Ravensburger Spieleverlag museum and business advocates decide in good conscience for the Wirtschaftsmuseum.

A few valuable insights later, our path leads you past the Rutenbrunnen up the stairs to the Mehlsack, Ravensburg’s landmark. After the first steps on the plateau, take a moment and sit down on a bench under the three lime trees. Enjoy the view of the Obertor to your right and the historic old town to your left. Let your thoughts come and go – like the people emerging from the narrow, winding alleys opposite and disappearing again in all directions.

A few more stairs and serpentines will take you through a green area worth seeing to the Veitsburg, a medieval hilltop castle. This is also considered the best photo and viewpoint in the entire city. If timing permits, you can marvel at the sunset here in a unique atmosphere with a unique view over the roofs of Ravensburg and far beyond.

The Philosophenweg leads you informatively and safely back down. If you want, you can take a bus from here in the summer to the Flappbachbad, a wonderful natural outdoor pool with the main season from June to September. In the winter months, it goes to the public skating in the ice rink!

Should you head straight back to the hotel, why not visit the chocolate manufactory in Eisenbahnstraße. Here you can enjoy handmade chocolate specialties on the spot or stock up on provisions for the road. Tip: Treat yourself to a scoop of ice cream on hot summer days. Chocolate, plain, stracciatella: everything is delicious, and everything is honest – because no unnecessary additives or flavor enhancers are used here.

Alternatively, a heavenly cake buffet awaits you in the hotel in the afternoon – or directly the small but fine spa area. Here, you can reflect on the day in a relaxed and restful atmosphere.
